The Andalusia Bulldogs throttled the Laurel Hill Hoboes 53-27 on day one of the Alabama/Florida Shootout in Pleasant Home on Friday night.

Jamal Hourel and B.J. Anderson got the Bulldogs offense off to a fast start. After the first, the Bulldogs were up 18-2. Hourel went 3-for-4 from the free throw line, and had 7 points. Anderson went 3-for-3 from the free throw line, and had 5 points. Tee Calloway was the only Hoboe to score in the first.

The Bulldogs continued to pour it on the under-matched Hoboes, and they led 31-9 heading into halftime. Hourel had 6 more points for the Bulldogs, and continued his solid shooting from the free throw line. Anderson accounted for 4 points in the second.

In the third period, the Bulldogs ran off a lot of clock, and didn’t do much shooting. The Bulldogs led 43-15 with one period left to play. Anderson stayed hot in the period with 5 more points.

The Bulldogs didn’t use many regulars in the fourth, and it gave a lot of the younger guys a chance to chip in on the action. Ian Peek took advantage of the opportunity. Peek stole the ball and then took it the other way for an easy layup that helped the Bulldogs put the Hoboes away 53-27.

The Hoboes leading scorer was Bryson Cooper with 9 points.

Freshman Anderson led the Bulldogs with 15 points, and sophomore Hourel finished with 14 points.
