The Andalusia rumor mill was officially closed today when superintendent Ted Watson, along with the other members of the board of education, named Trent Taylor as the new head football coach for Andalusia High School.

Taylor, a graduate of Andalusia High School, has had very successful 25-year run as head coach of the Straughn Tigers.

Taylor has compiled a 183-121 record in his 27 years as a head coach. Taylor’s teams have appeared in 19 playoffs. An alumnus of Andalusia High School, Taylor was named 2012 3A Coach of the Year.

He will join the AHS faculty in January, and will have teaching, as well as coaching responsibilities.
