The Lady Bulldogs really came out in third playing tight defense, and the offense did a great job at converting second chance opportunities. In the closing minutes of the third period, the Lady Bulldogs managed to gain a 33-29 lead.

The fourth period saw the Lady Panthers take a lead with just over a minute left in the game, 48-45. The Lady Bulldogs held the Lady Panthers without a basket in the waning seconds to secure a 50-48 victory.

The Lady Bulldogs’ leading scorer was Alexis Lawrence with 19 points. Comer accounted for 12 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

“I’m proud of the girls for coming out here and winning a close one,” Lady Bulldogs’ head coach Brad Garner said. “We still have a lot to work on, but when you keep plugging away and getting after it good things happen. I thought we took good shots tonight, but sometimes it looked like there was a lid the basket.”
