Dear Editor:

This letter is two-fold. First, it is to say I am so thankful to live in a small town where the main picture on the front page is two guys playing a game of corn hole. We are blessed beyond measure not to open the paper daily and see all the garbage that goes on in other towns – some maybe not so far away from us. Do we occasionally have problems? Of course. What town doesn’t? But there is so much more good that goes on every day in this wonderful little town. Thank God for His blessings on us.

Secondly, this picture represents the Andalusia High School Class of 2015. My daughter is a member of this class and I have had the honor and privilege of being a class mom, a chaperone, and a casual observer of these students over the years. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a class this close. As a matter of fact, I’M close to them. You see, I love each of them. They are so fun to be around and also very respectful to adults.

I’ve heard several teachers over the years say this is one of the best classes they’ve seen come through. As a parent, that gives me great pride to know my child played a part in it. I was not surprised when I heard the kids were getting together on the school lawn to play corn hole, Frisbee and football. They love being together. I get a little teary eyed when I talk to them. Some are going in the Marines and other branches of service. Some are going off to different colleges, some are staying local to work, and several are going to LBW before transferring. Whatever they choose to do in life, I pray they will be successful, safe and happy.

To the Andalusia Class of 2015 – You are an awesome group of young adults and we are proud of you!!!
