Three people were arrested after seven grams of methamphetamine and a large amount of ingredients to manufacture meth were seized at an Andalusia residence.

Regina Watson, Johnny Halford and Kandi Halford were arrested on charges of first-degree manufacturing, second-degree possession of marijuana, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance with bond amounts for $357,500.

Other charges may be filed, officials said.

The lab was found at 1211 East Three Notch, Apt. 2.

Drug Task Force (DTF) Investigator Greg Jackson, said the DTF was working on a follow-up investigation they had been working on for over a month when they found the lab.

The DTF caught Johnny Halford trying to slip away from the residence and Kandi Halford asleep on the couch; Watson showed up to the residence without knowing officers were there.

Found within the home were items used for a “shake-n-bake,” including containers of ammonium nitrate, lye, pseudoephedrine, muriatic acid, Drano, empty Gatorade bottles and all items commonly used in a meth lab.

Marijuana, meth, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia were found on the subjects and in Watson’s purse.

Candi Halford was previously arrested for multiple counts of failure to appear, possession of drug paraphernalia and pled guilty in 2013 to second degree manufacturing of a controlled substance.

Johnny Halford pled guilty in 2011 to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to six years in prison.

The DTF was assisted by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board Narcotics Division, Alabama Pardons and Parole Board and the Andalusia Police Department.

“The DTF has been battling this methamphetamine epidemic for awhile now,” Jackson said. “We just want Covington County residents to know that we are aggressively working these meth labs and the ICE epidemic.”
