Josh Dutton has joined the Andalusia Star-News as sports editor.
Dutton, who is a 2003 graduate of Andalusia High School and attended Troy University, began work on Monday.
Dutton will be responsible for coverage of the six area high schools’ sports teams, Lurleen B. Wallace Community College athletics and recreational sports throughout the county.
“I’ve very excited for this opportunity to cover all the local sports and to get to know the community better,” Dutton said.
“We are pleased to have Josh join our staff full-time,” Star-News publisher Michele Gerlach said. “He brings a strong work ethic and a great attitude, as well as a keen understanding of local sports to our staff. We hope our readers will join us in welcoming him.”
Dutton interned at PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, where he wrote news releases, edited video, helped produce commercials and photography.
While at Troy University, Dutton studied broadcast journalism and was a member of Delta Chi fraternity.
Dutton has been a stringer for the Star-News for the past five football seasons, and looks forward to getting involved in the community.

Dutton replaces Andrew Garner, who left The Star-News to become managing editor of The Star-News’ sister newspaper, The Greenville Advocate, and associated publications. Garner began work in Greenville on Monday.
