An evening of food and demonstrations is planned for the annual Alabama Cooperative Extension System holiday festival.
The festival is $5 and is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thurs., Nov. 6, at the Covington County Extension Office building.
“We are hoping to have a bigger crowd than last year,” Bridgette Brannon, regional extension agent said. “We would just love for people to come out and support the extension office and get into the holiday spirit.
“We just want people to have a good time and hopefully learn how to do some crafts.”
Myra Maddox with Harold’s Furniture and Flooring will demonstrate how to decorate outside windows and front doors for the holiday season.
Maurice’s will host a fashion show on the latest clothing trends and accessories for the holiday season.
Debbie Biggs will share simple tips on how to decorate holiday cakes, which will seem to look as if an entire day was spent in the kitchen.
A Master Gardener will talk about how to care for holiday plants and keep them looking fresh long after Christmas has ended.
Holiday desserts and treats will be available to sample, as well as a free Auburn cookbook and dessert book for attendees.
Door prizes will also be distributed throughout the evening.
