The Andalusia Police Department was called to Brooks Street Thursday night after gunfire was exchanged in the neighborhood.

Investigator Jody Scott said police were called to the scene at approximately 8 p.m.

The incident began when shots were fired from a vehicle on Palmetto Street toward the Brooks Street house. Later, the vehicle returned and shots were fired toward the house, Scott said, adding that it had not yet been determined how many total shots were fired.

Eyewitnesses said a black male and two white females left the residence after shots were fired.
