Pleasant Home is keeping its eyes on the road ahead.
The Eagles take on Georgiana tonight at home, and head football coach Chris Masons said even though his team hasn’t won a game this year, the boys are improving.
“We are going toward good things here,” Mason said. “Besides just playing better every week, we want to be a spoiler, which helps to give motivation to give us a big ‘W’ at home. We’d like nothing more than to get a win at home.”
Georgiana is currently sitting at 3-3 overall, and 1-2 in Class 1A, Region 2 this season.
Mason said the Eagles will stick to their game plan.
“We’re going to play our game, which is being physical up front and ground and pound,” he said. “I’ve some guys, Austin Hall has really stepped it up for us as a fullback. He’s a senior and hungry and appreciative of the opportunity. He took advantage of it last week.”
Plagued with injuries early this season, PHS hasn’t had the chance to get back on track.
Mason said the seniors have had a great attitude all year.
“In a tough year, sometimes you can lose a team,” he said. “This team isn’t quitting. They have moments. This team is really fighting, and I’m proud of them of that.”
Kick off tonight is at 7.
