Red Level tops Georgiana

Red Level tinymite Javin Poindexter scored four touchdowns to help lead the Tigers to a 28-26 overtime win against Georgiana on Saturday night at Bobby Dye Stadium.

At halftime, RL led 6-0 and the game was tied at 20-all at the end of regulation.

With this victory, the Tigesr are in first place in their division and it secured a first-round bye for the playoffs, which start on Sat., Oct. 18.

RL went on to beat Georgiana 28-0 in termites action, but fell 28-6 in peewees for its first loss of the season.

In other county youth football action, Kinston topped Florala 8-6 in tinymites; Florala won big 28-6 in termites; and Kinston edged the peewee Wildcats 40-38.

Pleasant Home lost in a sweep to McKenzie (28-6 in tinymites, 20-0 in termites and 12-6 in OT in peewees).

Andalusia’s J’Marion Burnette rushed for 135 yards on 19 carries and scored one touchdown to help lead the Bulldog tinymites to a 7-0 win over Greenville.

Defensively, Jordan Hill led the Bulldogs with 10 tackles.

In other Andy action, the midgets won 28-0; the termites lost 7-0; and the peewees won, 19-6.

Opp fell in all age groups to Evergreen. The Bobcats will not be in action this week.

The Tigers will be in action on Saturday at Kinston; Pleasant Home hosts Georgiana; and Florala hosts McKenzie.

Andalusia visits Straughn this week.
