Florala’s Austin West scored three touchdowns and Avery McNeil added two more to help lead the Wildcats to a 41-6 homecoming victory over Akron on Friday night at Mathews Stadium.
Blake Donaldson added a touchdown and Chandler Holmes went 6-of-7 in extra loins.
“We had an awesome crowd (Friday night),” FHS head football coach Brad Rhodes said. “We had a lot of people come back to celebrate 100 years of football. I’m glad we gave them a good show.”
Throughout the season, the Wildcats’s extra-point game has been non existent.
“We’ve been working on it and he’s done well,” Rhodes said about Holmes.
Florala took a commanding 28-0 lead after the first quarter and led 41-6 at halftime.
The Wildcats start the second half of the season in region play against Brantley at home next week.

The Eagles scored on a 15-yard pass from Garrett Barton to Aaron Warthen. Austin Hall and Brayton Douglas had rushing touchdowns in the loss.
“We fought hard,” PHS head football coach Chris Mason said. “J.U. Blacksher is much improved.”
