Saints beat Governors, score 7 runs in 10th

With the game tied 3-3 in the top of the tenth inning, LBWCC’s Saints baseball team broke the game wide open, scoring seven runs, and held on to beat the Wallace-Dothan Governors 10-3 Sunday in conference play.
With this win, the Saints are two games out of the last playoff spot in the ACCC Southern Division with seven conference games left to play.
The Saints took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on a David Carter single that scored Aaron Haag of Andalusia from second base.
LBWCC stretched its lead to 3-0 after scoring two runs in the fifth inning.
On the mound, Chris Barrentine allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings.
Austin Mason got the inning going when he hit a single to left to score the go ahead run.
Spencer Youmans of Opp got the win for the Saints in relief for Barrentine.
Mason was 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI; Haag was 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI; P.J. Leto was 2-for-4 with an RBI; and Gavin Free of Opp was 2-for-5 with two runs, an RBI and a stolen base.
The Saints will play host to Enterprise State Community College today at 2 p.m. at Crum Foshee Field at LBWCC in Andalusia.
