Nico might be getting back on the Kansas City Chiefs’ roster after all.

Johnson was recently released by the Chiefs and signed to the team’s practice squad.

Earlier today, The Kansas City Star reported that Kansas City coach Andy Reid confirmed that linebacker Derrick Johnson and defensive end Mike DeVito will undergo surgery for ruptured Achilles’ tendons.

Both players were injured in yesterday’s 26-10 loss to Tennessee.

The same report indicated that the Andalusia native is a candidate to be promoted from the practice squad.
