United Fund needs $18K

United Fund of Covington County is still almost $18,000 short of its 2014 fundraising goal, and is asking for support so it can make its fourth-quarter payments to the 20 agencies it funded this year.
Tari McClung, who chaired this year’s drive, said it is almost time to begin work on fundraising for 2015, but the UF board needs help with 2014 first.
“There is always some attrition,” she said. “But we will have to cut funding if we don’t get more support this year.”
The goal for 2014 was $120,000, and to date, the organization has pledges and donations totaling $102,412.
“We are asking for donations to try and help us reach our goal,” McClung said. “We really need the community’s assistance in reaching the goal. We have many businesses that have given in the past, but we have not received a pledge or donation from them for this campaign, so we are asking everyone to submit those as soon as possible.
“United Fund touches so many lives in Covington County, but without the funding we will not be able to fulfill all the requests.
