LIZ M. SIRMON
Mrs. Liz M. Sirmon, age 77, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Aug. 16, 2014, at Andalusia Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Tues., Aug. 19, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.
Special music will be provided by Jason Barrow. The Rev. Ed Ganus will officiate. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include husband, Jessie Sirmon of Andalusia; sons, Billy Barbaree and Tinker Sirmon, both of Andalusia; four grandchildren, Sharon (Lance) Holloway, Brandy Barnes, Michael Barbaree and Lane Sirmon; five great grandchildren, Darian Morrow, Ashton Morrow, Halley Barnes, Alyssa Barnes and Tanner Barbaree; and a sister, Evelyn Pate of Andalusia.
Serving as pallbearers are Lane Sirmon, Lance Holloway, David May, Eddie Rowell, Russell Messick and John David Kimbro.
Mrs. Sirmon is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Mayberry.

BARBARA JOAN DODSON
Mrs. Barbara Joan Dodson Bankson, age 80, of Andalusia, died Sat., Aug. 16, 2014, at her residence.
Funeral services were held on Aug. 18 at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Aaron and Mike Ellis officiating. Interment followed at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Bankson was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bankson; parents, Joseph Harmon and Dessie Odell Dodson; and a brother, Bill Dodson.
Mrs. Bankson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mike Ellis of Evergreen; a son, Butch Bankson of Millbrook; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Robinson and Odell Howard, both of Birmingham.

MATTIE LOU CORBITT GRIFFITH
Mrs. Mattie Lou Corbitt Griffith, age 88, passed away Sun., Aug. 17, 2014, at Andalusia Manor.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Tues., Aug. 19 from Foreman Funeral Home with the Rev. Herb Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. today at Foreman Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mickey Smith, Gaines McKinley, Billy Joe Sharpe, Clay Brooks, Scott Brooks and David Corbitt.
Mrs. Griffith was born to the Rev. and Mr. R. M. Corbitt of the Red Oak community. As a young adult, she moved to Andalusia and eventually began a career as a beautician.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Griffith; her children, Lou Ann Griffith Haywood and Richard Griffith; her siblings, Emmett Corbitt, Clyde Corbitt and Aileen Corbitt Smith; and step-son, Thomas L. Griffith, Jr.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Kathryn Corbitt of Red Oak; her son in law, Buddy Haywood of Tipton, Ga.; nieces, Jeanie Corbitt (Billy Joe) Sharpe of Red Level and Lynn Corbitt (Gaines) McKinley of Monroeville; nephews, Mickey (Barbara) Smith of Atlanta, Ga., David (Charlotte) Corbitt of Red Oak and Gary Corbitt of Davie, Fla.; and step-daughters, Ellen Griffith Flinn of Andalusia and Katherine Griffith Bennett of Elba.
A long time member of the First Baptist Church, Mrs. Griffith was also an active Altrusa Club member for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed oil painting and visiting friends and family.
