Students bring home 12 top finishes

Seven Andalusia Isshinryu Karate students grabbed 12 first-place finishes at the 2014 Florida Sunshine Classic Karate tournament in Panama City, Fla. on Aug. 9.
Competitors competed in several styles of martial arts, including karate, taekwondo and kung fu.
Andalusia students placed as follows:
• Allen Butler — first place in black belt youth weapons, black belt youth kata, black belt youth fighting and black belt youth musical forms;
• Rexanne Butler — second place in black belt girls fighting;
• Kila Owens — first place in yellow belt weapons, first place in yellow belt kata and first place in yellow belt girls fighting;
• Konner Owens — first place in yellow belt weapons, second place in yellow belt kata and first place in yellow belt fighting;
• Taj Patel — first place in black belt musical forms, and third place in brown belt fighting and kata;
• Landon Caldwell — first place in green belt weapons, first place in green belt kata and second place in green belt fighting; and,
• Dalton Spears — second place in brown belt weapons, second place in brown belt kata and second place in brown belt fighting.
