Youth soccer registration for Andalusia, Opp ends Friday
The days are winding down to register for youth soccer in Andalusia and Opp.
Both parks and rec offices will be holding registration until Friday.
Currently, there are 100 registered participants for youth soccer in Andalusia, youth sports coordinator Caitlin Shipman said.
“We had 200-plus participants last year and we are hoping to keep these numbers up,” Shipman said. “Everyone tends to wait until the last minute to register, so please do not forget to stop by Johnson Park this week to register your child.”
For Andalusia and excluding weekends, children ages 4 to 15 years old can register. The age cut off was Aug. 1, 2014.
Cost is $35 for one child, $55 for two and $75 for three or more. Children must be siblings or live in the same household to receive a discount. It’s suggested that parents bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate to register.
Scholarships are available upon request and based on financial need. A $20 processing fee is due at the time of registration.
Youth soccer registration in Andalusia is open to all children within the county.
Shipman said that those who register after Aug. 15 will incur a $10 late fee.
Shipman also said that tryouts will be held for ages 8 and up on Mon., Aug. 18, at 5:30 p.m. at the Dwight Mikel Sports Complex.
“We look forward to another exciting year of youth soccer,” Shipman said.
Those in Opp who are interested in registering can do so from 8 a.m. until noon and from 1-4 p.m. at the parks and rec office on Cameron Road.
Boys and girls ages 4 and up can sign up, where the registration fee is $35. A birth certificate is needed at the time of registration, if it’s not already on file.
