Business After Hours set for Tuesday

Mary Scott Hunter, member of the Alabama Board of Education, will be the special guest at an Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours on Tues., July 29.
Hunter is a supporter of the Alabama College and Career Ready Standards, which include the Common Core Standards.
Her focus areas have been workforce development, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), and Career Technical Education.
A native of the Alabama Gulf Coast, Hunter graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama in 1995 and went on to The University of Alabama School of Law. After graduating from law school she was commissioned as a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant. She served 10 years as an Air Force Judge Advocate General. As a military attorney she first served in the active duty Air Force, then in the Reserves, and finally in the Alabama Air National Guard – attaining the rank of Major. Her assignments included two overseas tours to Korea and Germany and a wartime deployment to the Middle East.
The event begins at 4:30 at the Chamber office, located on River Falls Street.
