Straughn’s Brooks Rabren shot a 1-under-par 69 today in his second round of the 2014 Future Masters Tournament at Dothan Country Club.
Rabren is sitting in the club house currently tied for second place as he enters his final round tomorrow.
“I’ve played two solid rounds and I’m real pleased with the way I’m hitting the ball,” he said.
Prior to entering the tournament, Rabren said he had been struggling for a two-week period.
The rising senior said he dug down, even working on his wedge game for six hours the other day.
“It’s coming all around for me,” Rabren said.
Rabren enters tomorrow’s final round one shot back from the leader, who is from Birmingham.
Thursday’s 4-under-par 66 carried over to today’s play, he said.
“I went 24 holes in a row with making a bogey,” he said.
He did make bogey twice today, which he said was two times too many.
“I’m ready for tomorrow,” Rabren said. “I’m not nervous. I’m excited.”
Another thing that Rabren said has helped him this week is the generosity of Scott and Jenny Adams.
“They’ve just opened up their home to me and told me to make myself at home,” he said.
Tee off time hasn’t been determined, but look for Rabren to start tomorrow at around lunch or shortly afterward.
