The City of Andalusia will play host to the 2014 Babe Ruth Softball Sub-State Tournament next week.

Girls ages 8U, 10U and 12U will play at the Dwight Mikel Sports Complex, and those ages 14U and 16U will compete at Johnson Park, starting on Thursday.

The first two days for the 8U age group are pool play format. Bracket play begins on Saturday morning at 10. The championship is slated for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

For the 10U age group, teams will compete in pool play Thursday, and at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday. Bracket play starts at 6 p.m. Friday. Championship game is at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

For the 12U age group, there is only one game on Thursday night at 8, followed by two pool play games on Friday.

Bracket play starts at 8 p.m. on Friday.

The championship is at noon on Saturday.

In the 14U-16U age groups, pool play goes all the way until 1 p.m. on Saturday, where bracket play will pick up in the second game of the time slot.

The championship is slated for 4 p.m.

Andalusia and Covington County are the only local teams in the 8U, 10U and 12U tournaments. The only local team in the 14U-16U tournament is Andalusia.
