An Andalusia man suffered serious injuries following a motorcycle crash Wednesday night in Gantt.

According to Alabama State Trooper Kevin Cook, 56-year-old Walter J. Mock was taken by Lifeflight to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery after he lost control of his 2003 Suzuki motorcycle at 8:20 p.m. on Bush Isle Road.

Gantt Chief of Police Wesley Snodgrass said officers Ken Harris and Chris Byrd, as well as Alabama State Trooper Rome Odom, responded to the accident, adding Mock suffered “significant injuries.”

Snodgrass said alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, although it has not been determined because a field sobriety test could not be performed at the time of the crash.
