Opp High School graduate Mitchell Schofield is preparing for an upward change in his career path after receiving a promotion to sergeant with the Opp Police Department.

Opp Chief of Police Mike McDonald said Scho-field has been an OPD officer since 2010 and has also worked with the 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force. Schofield will be leaving the DTF in order to take on his new position as sergeant and shift supervisor, McDonald said.

“We signed off on his promotion and we feel like he’ll do a good job for us,” McDonald said.
