Andalusia’s Youth Football League will be holding its 2014 football registration on July 14-15 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the elementary school gym.
Registration cost is $60. The league only accepts cash, no checks.
The $60 fee covers game jersey, T-shirt, mouthpiece and player trophy. The league will provide helmets and shoulder pads. Pads will be given out on the night of sign ups. Players won’t be allowed to get pads unless he/she pays the registration fee.
There are weight limits for each age group. The weight of each player is determined when he/she wears all pads, helmet and jersey.
The tiny mites (6 to 8 years old) have a weight limit of 165 pounds; the termites (9 to 10 year olds) have a weight limit of 175 pounds; and the peewees (11 to 12 year olds) have a weight limit of 220 pounds.
All players will be placed in their appropriate age group upon their age as of Aug. 1. Players can play in an older group with a parent’s or legal guardian’s consent.
Bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate at registration.
The first 25 players in each division who complete the registration form, pay the registration fee and provide a copy of their birth certificate will be allowed to participate. All others will be put on a waiting list and contacted if someone drops out before the season begins.
