Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Rice and Beans Ministry of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, I would like to thank all those who participated in the Letter Carriers Food Drive on Sat., May 10. To the mail carriers who did extra work to collect food donations, especially on a rainy day, and to all those who donated food – we send a special word of appreciation and gratitude. As one of the three charities which received the proceeds of this drive, we are amazed by the generosity of those involved. Our volunteers have been busily sorting the large amount of donations we received; our Rice and Beans pantry is now overflowing; and we look forward to sharing the food with neighbors here in Andalusia.
