Opp defeats Andalusia, 20-1, at district tourney

Opp’s Orlando Lacey hit two home runs Monday night against Andalusia to help lead his team to a 20-1 victory in the losers’ bracket of the 9-to-10-year-old Little League All-Stars district tournament in Opp.
Lacey’s first home run was an inside-the-park home run that came in the first inning and his second came as a conventional home run in the second inning.
In addition to Lacey’s home run in the first, Parker Bracke (two runs), A. Turner (two runs), C. Gafford, Ty McCurley, Cody Anderson and T. Flowers all scored for Opp to bring the score to 9-0.
In the second inning, Bracke, Gafford, McCurley, Anderson, E. Kivey, McCurley, Flowers and Lacey all came home on six hits, two walks and one home run.
Andalusia’s Madison Ward scored the only run in the third inning on an RBI single from Will Jones.
Opp added three runs in the third inning to close out the game.
