Pleasant Home and Florala will meet in the Class 1A, Area 3 softball championship game today at 9 a.m.

The Lady Wildcats defeated Red Level 15-0 twice to end the Lady Tigers season.

In the semifinals, PHS topped FHS 4-3 to earn a berth to the South Regional Tournament in Gulf Shores next week.

In Florala’s first game against Red Level, Bailea Rickett struck out four in two innings; and Lily Ritzel closed the three-inning game with three strikeouts. Both pitchers recorded no walks.

FHS scored five runs in the first inning, three runs in the second and seven runs in the third.

Against Pleasant Home, Ritzel struck out eight batters and walked two in the loss.

The Lady Wildcats scored three runs in the first inning, and added one in th third.

Pleasant Home scored two runs in the third, and added another in the fifth for a 3-3 tie.

The semifinal game went into extras, where PHS tacked on one run in the eighth.

Rickett struck out four and allowed one walk in the Lady Wildcats’ second-game win over RLS.

FHS scored six runs in the first, seven runs in the second and two runs in the third to gain a berth to play in the south regional.
