Straughn’s girls basketball team held its annual fall banquet Sunday afternoon at SHS, and five girls received special awards.

The Lady Tigers finished their season with a 21-9 record, and fell to Class 4A state champions Brewbaker Tech in the sub regional tournament.

The following are the special award recipients along with their awards:

Katy Messick, Academic Award; Sierra Danford, Most Improved; Tiffany Taylor, TEAM Award; Anjelica Bonham, Hustle Award; Jacie Williamson, Best Offensive Player Award; Danford, Best Defensive Player Award; Taylor and Messick, Captains; and Taylor, Most Valuable Player Award.
