Woman wanted for bad checks ‘in custody’

Just two days after officials with the Covington County District Attorney’s Office’s Worthless Check Unit released information on three suspects wanted for writing thousands of dollars in bad checks, one of the suspects is in custody.
This afternoon, District Attorney Walt Merrell said 57-year-old Frances Denise Carr was arrested without incident by Investigator Lamar Stokes and booked into the Covington County Jail.
Merrell said Carr presently has more than 40 “bad checks” that have been reported to the Worthless Check Unit.
Earlier in the week, Investigator Brett Holmes said Carr has a Dothan address, but was believed to still be in the Covington County area.
Investigators are continuing the search for two other women, each wanted for writing worthless checks at local businesses totaling thousands of dollars.
Holmes said both 41-year-old Angela Alisa Curry and 44-year-old Dusty Straughn Walker have addresses in Covington County are wanted by the Worthless Check Unit.
