Pleasant Home will begin its 2014 football season on the road at Class 2A Zion Chapel on Aug. 22.

The Eagles released their football schedule on Wednesday. The Alabama High School Athletic Association’s Central Board of Control approved a new round of reclassification realignments at its winter meeting and PHS didn’t move classifications or regions.

However, the Eagles are now playing in a seven-team region with Brantley, Georgiana, Kinston, McKenzie, Florala and Red Level in Class 1A, Region 2.

Additionally, the Central Board of Control voted to approve the addition of another week during the regular season to allow teams the opportunity to better schedule non-region contests.

Pleasant Home will hold its open week on Sept. 12. The Eagles will play RLS and FHS in back-to-back weeks during the second half of the season.

To close region play, PHS plays Brantley on Oct. 24.

The Eagles’ regular season ends on Oct. 31 at Samson.

The Eagles will be playing their spring game on May 16 at Georgiana.
