receiving friends from 5 -8 tonight at Wyatt Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Barker Warren; mother, Paula Warren; sister, Lindsay Warren (Kaleb) Wimberly; brother, Joseph Warren; granddaddy, John Warren Sr.; cousin, Ashley (Christa and Brooklyn) Clackley; sister-in-law, Megan (James) Barker White; brother-in-law, Brett (Lexi) Barker; nephews, Bennett and Braden Barker; grandmother by marriage, Mary “Bubba” Martin; “PawPaw,” Hilton “Slim” Peyregne; along with many other beloved family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his daddy, John Warren Jr.; Meme, Geraldine Covington; aunt, Joni Reeves; and grandmother, Jacqueline Warren Peyregne.
He was born on June 20, 1983, in Homewood. His faith was made sight on January 1, 2014. He sees his Savior’s face and is now worshipping at His feet. At the age of 9 at Camp Victory in Samson, and by God’s grace, he realized he had sinned against a holy and righteous God. He saw the forgiveness offered to him in the cross of Jesus Christ. That day he was justified fully before God through His Son. Johnny chose that day to follow Christ and made knowing Him more and more each day his goal.
In 2005, on a mission trip to Ecuador, Johnny saw God’s desire for all people of all nations to come to know Him. He decided then that he would devote the rest of his life to this cause. In 2006, he left his home in Alabama to serve in Southeast Asia for almost two years.
In 2009, he married his wife, Amy, and the two of them began to serve alongside each other. In January of 2010, Johnny began serving on the staff of Westview Baptist Church in Opp, as pastor for discipleship and missions and served there until the time of his death. He led the church on many trips to Central America and Africa. He gave Westview a great passion for taking the gospel to the nations, as his joy for missions was contagious. He constantly pointed people to Christ through the Word of God as the source of his passion and joy.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Children’s Hope (a ministry of FBC of Montgomery), International Mission Board or Westview Baptist Church of Opp Missions.
