Christmas group appreciates help

Dear Editor,
The board and workers of Andalusia Community Christmas want to say a big “thank you” to the people of our community and local businesses for providing a Christmas package for over 390 boys and girls from the elementary schools of Red Level, Straughn, Pleasant Home and Andalusia. In addition to the packages bicycles and helmets were given to 120 kids whose names were drawn from those in attendance.
It is most heartwarming to realize that the community gave with such generosity and that so many people were involved by registering kids, formatting the databases, collecting and organizing packages, and making sure that every child was accounted for, shopping for the kids, assembling bicycles, setting up for the party, working during the party, entertaining the kids, cleaning up after the party and in general just giving of themselves without asking for anything in return.
Again, thanks to so many individuals, civic clubs, businesses , foundations and others that made a difference in the lives of nearly 400 kids and their families this Christmas season. We all look forward to doing this again next year!
For the Board,
Larry Avery, Chairman
Andalusia Community Christmas, Inc.
