Did you forget to get little Susie’s Christmas present in the mail?

Don’t fret – there’s help on the horizon.

One can still take advantage of priority shipping through the U.S. Postal Service until Saturday, but one can also look to the folks at Pack-N-Ship to make sure that special gift arrives on time.

“We can definitely get it there by Christmas,” said owner Sheila Caylor. “We’ve got a group of dedicated customers, but with Christmas falling in the middle of the week, I think that will impact business not only for us, but also for the post office.”

On Wednesday, Sherry Wiggins and her daughter were among the crowd looking to ship at least five presents – all gaily wrapped for the occasion.

“These have to go to my daughter in Pinedale, Wyo.,” she said. “I’ve got to get them there.”

Over the years, the Caylors have seen a multitude of items shipped. Everything from the normal and mundane to the weird, she said.

“The strangest thing I would have to say was a wildebeest head,” Caylor said. “I don’t remember where it went to, but I remember it was big and it was hairy. It was so big that we had to make a box for it, and when the carrier came, we had to take the back door off to get it out.

“I still smell that thing, too,” she said with a slight shudder. “Yuk.”
