If you’re looking to be a part of the crowd at Jordan-Hare Stadium a week from Saturday for what could be the most highly anticipated Iron Bowl in history, now might be the time to cash in those savings bonds.
The average asking price for a ticket to the annual in-state grudge match is $618.80, according to Tiq IQ. Tickets available for purchase on findticketsfast.com are currently topping out at $1,518.
Ticket prices for the Iron Bowl have soared in recent weeks as No. 1 Alabama continued its undefeated roll through this year’s schedule. Across the state on the Plains, Auburn has fought its way to a 10-1 record and a national rank of No. 6 under first-year head coach Gus Malzahn.
Auburn’s epic turnaround, coupled with Alabama’s quest for a three-peat national championship, has lead to the first Iron Bowl in history that will decide who represents the SEC West in the conference title game in Atlanta.
According to Forbes Magazine, the success of Alabama’s two major college football programs has led to this year’s Iron Bowl ticket prices ranking as the highest of the season for Auburn, and not too far below the most expensive game of the season in college football.
Currently, the average ticket price for this year’s Iron Bowl is still down from the $820 average price asked for tickets to Alabama’s road game versus Texas A&M in September.
