A press conference is set for 2 p.m. today in Andalusia City Hall.
The event was announced by the mayor’s office last week, and is set for the second floor.
The announcement said the press conference is regarding investigation into the conduct of certain employees of the Andalusia Utilities Board.
Two weeks ago, Mayor Earl Johnson acknowledged in a written statement that he has asked the Andalusia Police Department to conduct an investigation into the conduct of a number of sewer and water department employees.
The statement came after word spread Tuesday that the APD had executed a search warrant at a home in Red Level. Chief Wilbur Williams confirmed that his department had done the search as part of an extensive investigation.
Wednesday, the mayor’s statement said, “The investigation is still on-going and there have been no arrests thus far. There will be no report until the investigation is complete, which is expected to be within seven to 10 days. At the conclusion of the investigation, there will be further announcements and all media will be notified as to how, when and where that will occur.”
Johnson also serves as chairman of the Utilities Board.
