Brooks Rabren took a stray golf ball to the mouth and still shot a 2-over-par 72 in the final round of the 2013 Future Masters Tournament at Dothan Country Club on Friday.
Going into yesterday’s round, Rabren was tied for eighth place. He currently sits at No. 15 on the leader board for the 15-18 age group.
The rising junior at Straughn High School got off to a great start with a birdie on the first hole. Rabren made par on hole Nos. 3 and 4 before making his first bogey of the day on No. 5. He finished the front nine at even par.
At the start of the back nine, Rabren made par on Nos. 10, 11 and 12 before making his second and third bogeys of the day at Nos. 13 and 14, respectively.
Rabren, whose mouth was a little swollen after the shot to his mouth according to his mom, Kim’s Facebook page, went on to finish out the round at even on the last four holes of the day.
He finished at 1-over-par for the tournament.
Rabren will be playing in Birmingham next Monday and Tuesday.
