This year’s Covington County Relay for Life fundraising came in just under its $104,000 goal, event chair Larry Brown said Friday.
Brown said 15 teams raised more than $100,000 – making it one of the most successful Relays ever.
“We wanted 30 teams, so to raise that much with only 15, that’s great,” Brown said. “We had a really good year, and I want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who participated.”
Brown said monies accepted through August will count toward the 2013 goal.
This year’s top money raising teams were from the City of Andalusia and Shaw Industries.
