Johnson looking forward to today

Nico Johnson said he’s going to go out and do the best he can at Alabama’s last Pro Day today in the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility.
Johnson, a former Crimson Tide linebacker, will run through combine-like agility drills in front of NFL scouts and coaches, including the 40-yard dash and foot-work drills.
The Andalusia native’s first Pro Day took place on March 13.
“I just want to go out and do the best I can, it’s as simple as that,” Johnson said about today. “I want to go out and improve on everything I did last time.”
Pro Day activities will begin at 9 a.m. Players will participate in weight-lifting activities, and the vertical and broad jumps.
Johnson said he isn’t going to participate in the bench press because it’ll put a strain where he had sports hernia surgery shortly after the 2013 Senior Bowl.
Since his first pro day, Johnson said he’s been building his stamina, mainly.
When asked if he has gone through a particular drill in which he can improve his performance, Johnson said he can do better on all of them.
“I just go through everything I went through as far as what they did at the combine, and the drills I did at the pro day last time,” he said. “I feel good about (today). I’m going to try my best.”
Most of all today, Johnson said he wants the scouts and coaches to see how much he’s improved since his surgery.
Additionally, Johnson said he’s “excited” about today.
“I’m more excited that the process is almost over,” he said. “People don’t understand that it’s a slow process, but it’s worth it. I can’t complain.”
