District Attorney Walt Merrell confirmed Monday night that law enforcement officers from several agencies in the county were involved in an excavation at the intersection of Point A Road and Hwy. 29 as part of an ongoing investigation Monday afternoon.

Merrell would not comment on the nature of the investigation.
