An 18-year-old Tennessee woman is dead after a one-vehicle accident Friday morning.
An Alabama State Trooper spokesman identified the victim as Sharron Choi, a backseat passenger in the vehicle.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on U.S. Hwy. 331, near mile marker 29, when the 2004 Subaru hydroplaned, left the roadway and struck a tree.
The spokesman said Choi, who was one of three inside the vehicle, was asleep in the backseat and was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver, Jennifer Sloatman, 18, and passenger, Stephen Eith, 22, were transported to Mizell Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor cuts and bruises.
