His paternal grandparents are the late Curtis Grant Jr. and Sandra Simmons of Sanford. C. R. was named after his maternal great grandfather, the late Cleon Richard “C. R.” Wages, his paternal great grandfather, the late Curtis Grant Sr., and his paternal grandfather, the late Curtis Grant Jr.
