Pleasant Home sweeps Florala

Pleasant Home had a “heck-of-a” third period in a 66-49 area victory over rival Florala on Friday night.
The Eagles were tied 14-14 with the Wildcats after the first and only led by eight points at halftime.
PHS went on to outscore FHS 20-9 in the third period.
“We had a heck-of-a third quarter,” PHS coach Jerry Davis said. “We really played well.”
Lance Davis led PHS with 30 points and nine rebounds. Chase Gunter shot 4-for-4 from the perimeter and finished with 14 ponits, and Troy Fantroy had a double-double 10 points and 12 rebounds.
“I was very pleased with the way we played,” Davis said.
In B-team action, the Eagles won 35-30 in overtime.
In girls action, the Lady Eagles went on to rout Florala, 46-27.
Garner said “hot-hand” Jade Self scored 16 points, where she drained four 3-pointers on the night.
The Lady Eagles led 7-4 after the first period and 25-11 at halftime.
Raven Woods added 13 points in the effort. Ashley Williamson had seven points. Sami Stamnes had four points.
Florala’s Lyndsey Edwards led the Lady Wildcats with 10 points. Kendra Evans had eight points.
Pleasant Home is back in action on Monday at Flomaton. Then on Friday, the Eagles will hold their senior night.
