PHS boys win, girls fall to Florala

Pleasant Home beat county rival Florala 43-34 in area action on Tuesday night.
Jeffrey Slaughter and Kaleb Powell led the Eagles with 10 points each. Cory Sims and Colter Poole added nine points each.
“Kaleb Powell played the best ball game he’s played all year,” PHS boys coach Jerry Davis said. “He took some shots, and made some.
“It was a struggle all the way through,” he said of both team’s scoring. “We were fortunate to get more points than they got.”
Pleasant Home improves to 12-8 overall, and 3-1 in Class 1A, Area 2.
In varsity girls action, the Lady Wildcats won 34-33.
The Eagles will make up their game against Geneva County that was not played last Friday night. The game has been rescheduled to Tues., Jan. 25, at 5 p.m., starting with the varsity girls team.
However, Pleasant Home will be having its homecoming game this Fri., Jan. 21, against area opponent Kinston. The B-team starts at 4:30 p.m.
