Bulldogs to tango with Yellow Jackets

Second-ranked Andalusia will travel to face the Ashford Yellow Jackets tonight in area action.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 71-66 area win over Headland last Friday night, where they improved to 18-2 overall, and 2-0 in Class 4A, Area 3. Ashford is coming off a 50-43 win over Straughn.
“They’ve got a good basketball team even though they’ve lost to Headland three times,” AHS boys coach Richard Robertson said.
Robertson said Ashford has only lost five games this season.
Additionally, the Yellow Jackets have personnel that are tall and muscular, Robertson said.
“What we’ve got to do is we’ve got to keep them from getting the ball to the basket,” he said. “It’s hard to win on the road anytime. What we’ve got to get our guys to understand is that you’ve got to play from the opening tip.”
Robertson said getting offensive and defensive boards is a must.
“You can’t give them second or third shots,” he said.
Tip off in Ashford is around 7:15 p.m.
