An Opp man was arrested recently after a short foot chase in the Hardin Street area.

OPD officials said they received an anonymous tip that 26-year-old Michael Jermaine Mount, was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Andalusia as well as a violation of probation charge, and was located at a home in the Washington Street-Hardin Street area.

When police approached the house, Mount, who said to have been sitting in a car near the residence fled the scene.

Officer Paige Spivey arrested Mount after the short chase.

Mount now faces, in addition to his prior charges, attempting to elude law enforcement and obstruction of governmental operations charges.

He is being held in the Covington County jail without bond.
