There are still two dozen seats available for the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce’s second annual “Andy in Action” bus trip to the State Capitol set for Thurs., Sept. 17.
Chamber executive director Ashley Eiland said participants will tour the Capitol, then have lunch at the Capital City Club with Sen. Jimmy Holley (R-Elba), Julie Lindsey of House Speaker Seth’s Hammett’s office, Al Allenback of U.S. Rep. Bobby Bright’s office; and State Treasurer Kay Ivey.
Eiland said the trip provides an opportunity for Covington County residents to meet with the leaders of the legislature to ask questions and express thoughts and concerns in various areas.
“This will allow us to meet our legislators face to face and express our views on issues at hand,” she said. “We represent a group of concerned citizens whose collaborative voice will be stronger than one alone. We hope to provide a platform for you to learn what is being forecasted for our area and have the opportunity to respond.”
The trip is open to all interested members of the Chamber. The $50 fee for the trip includes bus fare and lunch. Participants will leave town at 8 a.m. and return at 4 p.m., Eiland said.
To reserve a seat, contact the Chamber at 222-2030.
