Free throws aid Eagles; Lady Tigers top Enterprise

Pleasant Home needed to make some free throws down the stretch tonight.
The Eagles shot 16-of-21 from the foul line and went on to beat J.U. Blacksher 53-46 in their home opener.
“That really helped out a lot,” PHS coach Jerry Davis said about the foul shots.
In fact, the game was tied 38-38 going into the fourth period.
Pleasant Home’s Lance Davis led the Eagles with 25 points. Chase Gunter added nine points.
In varsity girls action, the Lady Eagles beat JUBHS 55-25; and in junior varsity action, the Eagles won 34-30.
Raven Woods led PHS with 23 points and Jade Self put in 14 points.
Pleasant Home will host Andalusia tomorrow night in regular season action.
In other basketball action, the Straughn Lady Tigers beat Enterprise 39-38 in a close contest.
Brittany Driver led SHS with 14 points. Jacie Williamson paced her team with 10. Katelyn Kinsaul chipped in eight points.
The Lady Tigers improve to 6-1 on the season.
