Writer shares her Christmas Reflection

Please see the attached “Christmas Reflection” – I wrote this in response to all the gloom and doom during this difficult economic situation, and I wanted to share it.
A Christmas Reflection
‘Twas the month of December and people were sad
Because the economy took what they had.
They forgot to remember when everything’s down,
Just keep hanging on ‘til it comes back around.
So pull up your stockings and set up the tree,
Send off some cards and watch some TV.
If you want to make cookies, get out the pans,
Go mingle with shoppers, have dinner with friends.
Don’t let it depress you or cause you despair,
The Gift of the Season is already there.
Have a smile on your face, sing a carol or two,
The pressure created is all up to you.
No need to spend money on things not required;
Put the money instead in a rainy day jar.
Tell your loved ones you care & hope they are happy.
It’s a season for sounding a little bit sappy.
Christmas won’t hurry, but Christmas won’t wait,
You have pause for reflection on times that were great.
Get down on your knees with your hands in a clasp,
And give thanks for the present as well as the past.
