AGNES GOODSON PERRY

Mrs. Agnes Goodson Perry, 82, of the Perry Store Community, passed away Oct. 9, 2010, at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan.

She finished school at Straughn High School and entered into accounting in Montgomery. She then worked for the Covington County School district and Opp City Schools under Mr. St. John and for MacArthur Technical College under President E. C. Nevins as an accountant and treasurer from Oct. 15, 1965, until her retirement on Feb. 29, 1984.

Mrs. Perry loved gardening and her greenhouse, which she shared with Tachie Perry for many years. She loved to keep beautiful yards, which was just one of her many hobbies.

She spent many years as owner and operator of Perry’s Seafood Restaurant, where she met many friends. She also helped feed the sick, disabled and less fortunate and was there until her passing.

She truly enjoyed and loved making everyone she met smile, including the many customers that entered and left the restaurant. She will truly be missed by all the lives she touched throughout her many years.

Funeral services were held Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with Stewart Young officiating. Special music was provided by David Adkins and Steve Kirkland. Burial followed at Alberton Cemetery with Wyatt Funeral Home directing.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alto and Tera Goodson of Sandford; husband, W. L. “Buddy” Perry of the Perry Store Community; and two brothers, Rushing Goodson and Pershing W. Goodson, both of Sandford.

Survivors include her sons, Tramel L. Perry and Travis W. (Laurie) Perry of Dothan; three grandchildren, Brandi, Eleykate and Goodson Allen Perry, all of Dothan; sister, Adelle Bullock of Andalusia; and three brother and sisters-in-law, Jim and Sara Perry of Hoover, Jack and Marion Perry of Andalusia and Jasper and Kathleen Smith of Macon, Ga.

Pallbearers were Ray Goodson, Ron Wyatt, Lee Perry, David Perry, John Corbin and Perry Smith.

MAE PITTMAN

Mae Pittman, 85, of Red Level, passed away Sat., Oct. 23, 2010, at her residence.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m., Mon., Oct. 25, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brent Cook and the Rev. Billy Boles officiating. Special music was provided by her son, Larry Pittman, and burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Keahey Funeral

Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Colvin of Red Level; four sons, Gordon (Judy) Pittman of Greenville, Larry (Beverly) Pittman, Michael Pittman and Mark (Lenora) Pittman, all of Red Level; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Pittman.

Serving as pallbearers were Neil Pittman, Michael Pittman, Randy Odom, Phillip Odom, Glenn Odom and Terry Leddon.
