Thomasville shattered Andalusia’s hopes of another perfect season, winning 35-15 Friday night.

The Bulldogs couldn’t stop the Tigers pass attack and the offense had little success in the first half. Thomasville took the lead in the first quarter when Delvonte White took a reverse around left side and took the ball 80 yards for the TD for a 7-0 lead.

The lead was extended to 14-0 on a 7-yard TD pass from Tevin Watters to Jacob Brasell.

With the first half winding down Thomasville added another score as Watters found Brasell again for a 27-yard TD for a 21-0 lead heading into halftime.

Watters started off the third quarter by leading his team down the field and finishing it off with his third passing TD of the game when he found White for a 31-yard TD.

The Bulldogs offense breathed a little life back when QB Michael McCalman hit Wayna Lindsey coming across the middle of the field and out ran the Tiger defense for a 64-yard TD and Javante Johnson made the 2-point conversion, putting the score 28-8.

It didn’t take long for Thomasville to answer back and it came with Watters completing his fourth passing TD of the game this time finding Ian Rossby who managed to keep his balance on the sideline and go 29 yards for the TD giving the Tigers a 35-8 lead.

Andalusia was able to find the end zone one final time with just over a minute left in the game when Brayden Burkhardt lead the offense down the field and capped the drive off with Burkhardt scoring from three yards out for a final score of 35-15.

Andalusia head coach Brian Seymore said after the game that he was worried his boys didn’t come out of the locker room ready to play football, “We kind of had that ‘deer in the headlight look’ coming out of the locker room, and you have to be fired up to play a team like Thomasville, they are a very good football program.”

Burkhardt finished as the leading rusher with five carries for 43 yards and a TD. McCalman finished 6-of-14 passing for 85 yards. Jud Rogers had seven punts for an average of 42 yards. Montell Lee had 11 tackles to lead the defense.
