TUSCALOOSA (AP) — Officials say the Kappa Sigma fraternity chapter at the University of Alabama has lost its national charter after an investigation.
Mic Wilson, executive director of Kappa Sigma, says the chapter lost its charter on Sept. 8 over violations of the national group’s code of conduct involving alcohol and social functions.
Wilson says the chapter will have 30 days from the day of notice to submit an appeal.
Gentry McCreary, the university’s director of greek affairs, says the chapter was suspended and its charter was withdrawn following an investigation by UA and the national organization.
Former chapter president Adam Sutherland says the chapter plans to appeal the decision.
